FRESNO PACIFIC UNIVERSITY

Amanda Slaughter serves as Vice President for Enrollment Management at Fresno Pacific University, a Hispanic-Serving Institution recognized by The Wall Street Journal as the #1 private university in the nation for social mobility. With more than 20 years of experience in higher education—and over a decade in senior leadership—she has served at multiple CCCU institutions across the country, advancing enrollment outcomes through data-informed strategy, collaborative leadership, and mission-driven storytelling. Amanda is Chair-Elect of the NACCAP Board of Directors and a Commissioner on the CCCU Commission for Enrollment & Marketing. She is also pursuing her Ph.D. in Educational Administration at Indiana State University, where her research focuses on the lived experiences of Black women senior leaders during COVID-19 and racial injustice, amplifying underrepresented voices in higher education leadership and advancing practices that foster equity and belonging.

VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT DEVELOPMENT

JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY

Anne M. Tohme serves as the Vice President for Student Development at John Brown University, beginning her role in July 2024. In this capacity, Anne provides leadership for JBU’s residence life program, student counseling center, health services, career development, the Office of Christian Formation, student activities, and campus safety. She also serves on the President’s Cabinet, contributing to the strategic direction and implementation of key initiatives for the university. Anne earned a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Educational Ministries from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2007.  She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management and a minor in Family Studies, from John Brown University, graduating in 1999. Before returning to JBU, Anne served 4 years as the Vice President for Student Life at Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida, where she oversaw a wide range of student services and athletics. Prior to her time at Warner, Anne spent 17 years at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, where she held various roles, including Director of Student Care & Engagement, Director of Residence Life, and adjunct professor in the Christian Ministries department. Her professional experience is marked by a strong commitment to holistic student development, spiritual formation, and leadership.

LIFE PACIFIC UNIVERSITY

Dr. Angie Richey, Ph.D., LMFT serves as the President of Life Pacific University. She is an ordained minister, educator, and licensed therapist, deeply committed to empowering individuals to fulfill their God-given purpose. With two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, Angie is a respected voice in Christian higher education, known for her innovative approach and adaptive leadership skills. She serves on several boards and is a frequent conference speaker. Alongside her husband, Jack Richey, she co-founded the Gathering, a Foursquare Church, a counseling practice, and a consultancy focusing on strategic leadership development. They have two adult married children, Ethan and Natalie and one grandson, William Jack. She and her husband love traveling, reading, and long afternoons in coffee shops.

SEATTLE PACIFIC UNIVERSITY

Dr. Deana L. Porterfield serves as the 12th president of Seattle Pacific University and the first woman to hold the role since the University’s founding in 1891. Since beginning her tenure in July 2023, she has led SPU into a new era of growth and renewal. Under her leadership, Seattle Pacific launched SPU140, a bold strategic plan designed to position the University for a thriving future by advancing enrollment growth, strengthening its distinctive Christian identity, and securing long-term sustainability. Early outcomes include two consecutive years of growth in new student enrollment and residential life, a new three-college and seminary academic model, and renewed energy around SPU’s mission to graduate students of competence, character, and wisdom—shaped by faith and hope. Previously, Deana served as president of Roberts Wesleyan University and Northeastern Seminary, where she guided the transition from college to university, launched the first doctoral program, and led the design and completion of the Golisano Community Engagement Center, supported by a historic $7.5 million naming gift. With more than 37 years of experience in Christian higher education, Deana is known for her capacity to unite people around a clear sense of mission and purpose. She is committed to shaping a community deeply rooted in its Christian identity—one that nurtures belonging, excellence, and spiritual vitality. She holds degrees from Azusa Pacific University and the University of La Verne.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, CHEIF PEOPLE AND CULTURE OFFICER

INDIANA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY (IWU)

Dr. Karen A. Dowling is the Executive Vice President and Chief People and Culture Officer of Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU). This position emphasizes the importance of the IWU people and their role in producing graduates of character, scholarship, and leadership… in other words, world changers! In her role, her duties encompass employee success & care (HR), Kingdom diversity, and intercultural & global efforts. She also builds strategies focusing on mentoring, professional development, talent planning, and onboarding new employees for the institution, and works among four units at IWU: IWU Marion campus, National & Global, Wesley Seminary and Central Administration. She is a member of the President’s Cabinet at IWU and believes her role is to collaborate and communicate intentionally for the sake of the University mission/vision/values, enrollment, retention, and care of the IWU people.  Karen is also on the CCCU Diversity & Inclusion Commission as Vice Chair, has led as a resource leader for WLDI, and has been a participant in LDI, the CCCU Imago Dei Conference and AWIL. Dr. Dowling has contributed as a speaker at Regional Mosaix Conferences and has presented at the National Mosaix Conference. She is CQ® certified and emphasizes continued learning and leading believing all people have culture and can bridge build as we work together for Kingdom purposes. In 2025, she was given the Indiana American Council on Education Distinguished Woman Leader Award.
